Trips to other Regions

The Abreast of Life Team regularly travels to Auckland, Rotorua and Wellington to compete against other teams such as Busting With Life and Pink Dragons (Auckland), CanSurvive (from Wellington), Waikato Treasure Chests (Hamilton), BoobOps (Tauranga) and Taranaki Dragons (New Plymouth).

In March 2003 the team competed in the Inaugural South Pacific Breast Cancer Regatta, held in Auckland, and then the following weekend went to Wellington to compete in the Cancer Division of the New Zealand Nationals.

In the past, races in Auckland were held in the Viaduct Basin but since about 2007 they have been in Lake Pupuke (on the North Shore, near Takapuna).

In the past, racing was over two days, with heats the first day, and further heats and then the finals late on the second day. The same applies in Wellington, where racing is held at Queens Wharf.
