The winter training in 2010 was started when three of the ABOL crew decided to travel to Peterborough, Canada to join the Melbourne-based DAM Busters at the IBCPC Regatta.

Winter conditioning

Paddlers are encouraged to go out for training and conditioning during the off-season.

ABOL initiated this in April 2010, and Aoraki Dragons are encouraging paddlers from other teams to join ABOLers every Saturday morning.

Originally the arrangement was to meet at Owles Terrace at 9:45, for a 10 am launch, but clearly since the Earthquake has disrupted the water quality in the Avon River, please contact us about other arragmenets!

One hour's paddling a week should help keep your fitness levels up.

The coach has also been known to take the team out for a training session from 11 am on Saturdays.
